Huis Ten BoschI will talk about a little place called Huis Ten Bosch! Pronounced Hos (like David HASSelhoff) Ten Ba-sh (like a lamb then saying shh... like shut up).
Where the hell is that?! It is a small town out in East Asia. But it sounds Swedish...
Actually it is a bit of Holland. Mostly it is a theme park. However, it is in East Asia like I said. Much like Disney it has rides with a certain theme, but no thrill rides. It --- well read this:
Huis Ten Bosch is a residential-style resort built after a mediaeval 17th century Dutch town.
Palace Huis Ten Bosch, built with special permission from the royal family, is a reproduction of the residence of Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands. In English, Huis Ten Bosch means "House in the forest." And true to its name this residential-style resort has canals running throughout, is surrounded by greenery, forests, amusements, shops, restaurants, five distinct hotels, a marina and residential area.
This spacious 152-hectare resort, roughly the same size
IndonesiaLast time I talked about Malaysia... this time let's talk about Indonesia.
A few years back there was an earthquake on one side of the world. Now if you are a nerd or if you paid close attention to earth science or simply have a basic understanding of fluid dynamics or simply truly noticed a pattern you will notice what happens when there is an earthquake.
If you are smart you will know when this is that I am talking about. My ship was one of the first to respond. Quite a few of us responded so you wont be able to pick out my ship.
So we get out there and it was something else. Looking through the big eyes you could see the devastation that the wave caused on the shore of this country. There was a factory about half a mile from the shore. Key word: was. All I could make out was a stack that was falling apart and a building with a gaping hole in the side.
The beach wasn't too good looking either. I was able to see a mess of tress and debris all over the sand. Being
One of the many outlaying countries of South East Asia. I went there. Got to see the pier in all its dirty glory.
What? You wanted more? Bah fine.
In 2005 we went there for humanitarian aid. Well really for the area not for just that one country. We pulled in for refueling and to meet some nationals. Political crap and what not.
We pulled in with the hopes that when th nationals and our admirals got onboard the crew that wasn't needed could get off. That was when the obvious situation occurred.
CO: Clean the ship! Oh noes the pier is dirty.
Crew: Not our country they just had a storm roll through. We don't need to clean that up. Plus we are all sure the admiral was an ensign before. He knows what a dirty ship looks like and probably won't care.
CO: Yea yea. Call me when the ship is clean.
So we went to work. Every one was cleaning everywhere even though the admiral was going from the pier to the quarterdeck to the ward room then back off the ship. Then they made a working par
Med cruiseLet's talk about... Oman.
Our ship pulled in at it was a working port. What does that mean? well that means that rather than having the day off and chilling out from a long 20 to 30+ days (not over 45 days cause that is a beer day and that would mean the ship would have to give 2 beers a sailor and we dont want that to happen cause that would make them happy or drunk... either way) they would rather have everyone work.
Now Oman isn't exactly some place nice either. It is on the outer lying side toward the Indian Ocean just above Africa. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oman.
We pulled in and it was the hottest place I had been to that I can remember at that time. We immediately got to work on surface preservation. That is fancy talk for scraping and chipping paint. Which would eventually lead to priming and painting. We had 4 whole days to enjoy working out in the 110+ degree sun and have plenty of time after to relax out in town.
I went and tasked myself with cleaning the .50 cal. m
Tsen"Tsen! Tsen Tso!" the patted footsteps through the temple had echoed around the corridors. Tsen Li had been looking. Looking for answers and for his brother. The advisers had wanted the texts hours ago and now his brother was nowhere to be found.
"Tsen! There you are," he was exasperated. The elders would surely be upset when they found their son has been late for another dead line. It was really typical of him and the advisors were kind enough to give him another chance. Otherwise he would be selling his texts as fire wood. "Look brother!" He exclaimed as Li walked closer to grab his arm.
Tso was quick to hold the text up and recite the words written in them. Nearby a candle went out. With another few words the candle had lit up again. "Tso. You know it is for bidden for us to use the scrolls!" Li tried to keep his voice low. "Why? Why must we write the beautiful things that can help our lives but not be allowed to use them?"
Tso knew wh
when he wakes. ch6Hal finally woke up. He saw David driving. He almost panicked when he realized what was happening, but contained him self when he realized that it would do no good plus the fact he was in the car with, what he now would refer to as, a lunatic. Where are we going? his voice was full of fear. He felt like he was reliving something with this man. Looking around him he could see the area was plain and desolate. It came to him before David answered We are going to the base. I have this map to show me where it is, Hal took the map. His hands were shaking. He didnt know if he should hate him self for that fact or just do what was necessary. Be scared.
A few hours had past and they were quite literally in the middle of no where. What if youre wrong? he took careful note not to say David and get him upset or Snake and feed on his ego What if the base isnt there or there is no evidence?
I know it will be there,
When he wakes. CH 5Days and weeks went by. He kept the plans to him self and figured that if he just changes his thinking all at once Ota...Hal would suspect something. So he made it gradual. He walked in the room where Hal waited. Doctor, he nodded and sat down. I am starting to see gaps in the things that I am telling you. I dont know what is real. The look on Hals face was one of relief. Thats only because it isnt real.
Finally, Hal thought, finally he sees the truth. He felt there was a new window of hope that he could help him. He listened to David talk and gave him some information that would help him. Then he sent David to go eat. Days went on like this and he felt that progress was coming along. He finally decided to walk outside with David. It was a slightly warm day. Well by Alaskan standards anyway.
The sun shined on him as he stepped out on to the grounds and breathed in the fresh air. Looks like I will be going today. Hal? Do
When he wakes. CH 4The remote in your hand is for you to hold on to your strength or to give up, the man in the trench coat walked past him as he tried to get out of the restraints of the table. Press the green button to begin the action for you to regain your strength. The red one is to stop the machine and submit to the torture.
He turned and walked to a console. Snake got him self as ready as he could. The safety switch on the console was turned off and he could hear the hum of electricity flowing through the table. His small hairs stood on end. From what he could tell Ocelots hairs were standing on end too. Only thing was that it was most likely out of excitement. The final beep emitted from the console and Snake jumped out of the bed that he was in. He landed hard on the floor screaming in pain as if he was still where he was in his dream. MERYL! he screamed knowing that he couldnt give up. He had to keep her alive. He wanted to.
The door opened and th
